On this 17 year anniversary of 9-11, I’m commemorating the day in two ways:
First, Dan Hughes, the owner of Dogs for Defense, a company of detection dogs that sniff out drugs and bombs was a former secret service agent for the United States. He was reporting to work at one of the towers on 9-11, 2001 when it collapsed. What he experienced during that event, drove him to want to work with dogs. Dan is on the show again and you’ll hear his story.
Then, there were numerous search and rescue dog teams that worked at the World Trade Center on 9-11. I’ll share a few of the stories of these dog heroes.
